Benchmade Mini-Griptillian 556

Griptillians are great knives for the price, especially in 154cm or D2. The mini is too small, IMO. Don't know why everybody doesn't like the scales, never had a problem. The axis lock is outstanding, smooth and easy.

But the mini does have full stainless steel liners which give it a more 'solid' feel.

if one had to nitpick, it'd be that the handles look and slightly feel cheap.

I would personally spend extra to get a HK 14205(which I did).

The 556 is so comfortable to hold; I really like the jimping on the top of the blade.

The axis stud not fully sliding up in its slot was irritating me so much that I considered returning/swapping it for a 707 sequel, but I think I'm just going to keep it.

I've purchased three of the 556 model, one for myself that I later gave to my son because it was the only one I had that he really liked, one for my daughter's boyfriend that he carries and uses all the time, and eventually another one for my own use because I liked it better than anything else I've carried. That isn't to say there aren't other outstanding knives - there are a lot and I have plenty that I really like - I just happen to prefer the mini grip over the others.
