What is the name and model number of the bottom knife?
No Auto's For Me.

yes, the 610 is the larger version of the 615 and the blade shape is basically the same(just bigger). There are no special versions of the 610.

For the 615 there were were four versions in S30V designating coatings and serrations: 615, 615S, 615BK, 615SBK.

Also, you could get inlays to swap out the bottom portion of the handles. You can see them on the product detail page.

There were some limited editions of the 615 but these were less desirable since they had 154CM instead of S30V: 615-1, 615SBK-1, 615-2, 615SBK-2.

For the 610 there were were four versions in S30V designating coatings and serrations: 610, 610S, 610BK, 610SBK. Also, similar inlay options.

6150 Auto Mini-Rukus is the auto one that you don't want.

Hypermole,

Check out Benchmade's website below:

http://www.benchmade.com/

Click on "Products" and you will see a drop down menu.

You can select:

Knives & Safety cutters: This is all the currently in production BM knives. .

Limited Productions: This is a pretty good list of limited BM knives. Some are missing but it's still pretty good

Discontinued: This is a list of all the discontinued BM knives. It's pretty up to date.

Take some time and look around the site. Once you get used to it you'll see a lot of the information your looking for and questions your asking is there. Especially spec's and model numbers of all the BM knives your interested in. .

Hope this helps.

Thanks RamZar .. Is the 610 is the larger version & would there be a special edition to look for?

Are the blades exactly the same shape on the 610 & 615 ?

There is one difference to the 610 and the 615 blade other than size. The mini has the swedge, as the full size does not. Small difference to some, big difference in my book.

That is exactly what I thought I was seeing in the pictures. It is kind of hard to see.

And thanks for the link !

Thanks

My favorite is the all G-10 limited at the top (615-2?) I owned one and a friend wanted it even more than I did. $$$ (;-)

For handles, the 615 series had black G10 at the top and OD green micarta at the bottom (the bottom is what you replace the inlays with), 615-1 all black G10, 615-2 all black & blue G10.

I really wish they still sold the replacement kits for the scales like they did when the Rukus first came out. I would have loved to get a pair of the Wine Wood and Ivory Micarta inlays. They even sold Black G10 Inlays too that I'd love to have gotten.

I've seen a couple of 610's that had the Wine Wood and Ivory Micarta Inlays on them and they looked really sweet!

I've looked and looked and can't find them anywhere. Anyone know of a source perhaps?

I'm in the same boat. Several months ago I looked again for a source but found nothing. Partial to the CF inlays myself.

  • Wine Wood
  • Silver G10
  • Ivory Micarta
  • Black G10
  • Carbon Fiber

Well, If I ever get lucky and find a source I'll let you know.

Man, you guys have now made me want an MP5. That's as close as I will ever get. Sadly enough, I was late to the scene, and missed some epic stuff. I wonder what we have now, that we will be having this same discussion on, in 5, 8, 10 years? That idea, and threads like this, are what make me buy multiples of things I really fall in love with. It makes you a hoarder I tell you.

Fear not L2bravo. I was late to the game as well. The 615 was one of my first desired and long disco'ed then. I despaired, however I promise if you hang in there, all can be found in due time with a little diligence. The prices however, I will not promise. A lot of good people in the knife world, on this and other [cough, cough Benchmade Community cough] great forums, that might understand and be sympathetic to your plight....well,.. understand anyway :)

I have a 610SBK and a couple 615-1 models in 154CM. The 610 is a great folder, a beast is what it's been called. I absolutely love the design. The handles look strange, but they are very comfortable and provide excellent grip with or without gloves.

Thanks Icky .. Google search showed a liner lock on the M4 AFCK
The 806 came in a limited edition with M4 steel. The 800 AFCK (the original AFCK) did come with a M2 blade at one point. One of the most desirable AFCK versions out there.

The Benchmade 810 Contego is my favorite in the current BM lineup. It simply is an amazing big folder with the superb CPM-M4 (62-64HRC) and valued priced at under $140.

There's no "satin" blade per se since the blade is coated with gray or black Cerakote.
The Contego is no longer available around $140 due to the new MAP enforcement. The least you'll find it is around $178 with the clear Cerakote M4. For about $20 more, you can get an actual satin finish blade on the 810-1401 -- in M390!
