i tried a search but didn't find anything on the bali so i thought i would try a new thread.

have you ever put a pocket clip on a model 42 before? the handle is made of cast titanium that is slightly round. would this require milling out a section to place a pocket clip on?

thanks for your time sir.

of course, steve'll have to say he can, but I've seen him put clips on much less hospitable items.

He should be along soon.

good luck,
brett

oh, you might want to include a picture for steve to see. that way he can have a visual of what you're talking about.

take care,

First let me say I really appreciate the question and the new thread in my forum. I also appreciate the votes of confidence but unfortunately I don't work on balis or autos. I have done so on two occasions but only when these type knives have been brought by personally by the owners. Those are illegal to mail and in the same league as mailing me an auto. I don't go there. I have a family member (cousin) that got into trouble with the postal inspectors and customs and it ruined him financially and he was well off before that and happily married. He is neither now.

Sorry. And just so you know, please don't discuss ways to circumvent laws here in my forum. It is not a good idea in others either but if you are a fan I'm sure you know that. I am not interested in that type work. There may be someone out there that is but I can't do that. I know I could probably mount a clip on it but I'd have to get it legally to do that and I don't see a way to do that. My apologies. In my position though I can't afford to risk doing that kind of thing. Also, keep in mind I don't make the rules. I just have this policy of not working on restricted items or dealing in them. I have a couple of autos I would sell but I refuse to mail them out.
