I'm pretty bored with most of the current offerings from most manufacturers.
I always liked the mpr design but never bought one. I know they changed the awesome looking pocket clip since it didn't work too well.

Anyway, I'm on the fence about getting an mpr. Any likes, dislikes about this design?

The MPR is a nice knife. If you like a stubby and chunky knife it should be great. I actually hate chunky knives but I love my MPR, and I am also a lefty who likes tip up carry, if that says anything.

If you can find one on a good deal buy it.

Well this thread should bomb since auto-spell screwed up the title and I didn't catch it.

My older son bought me the 755 MPR as a gift...after I had made it pretty clear that I wanted one.
Worst darned knife I've ever owned, and I can't sell it or give it away. It just sits there, like the twenty-pound short, fat brick that it is.
The ONLY saving grace is the M390; the blade is very nice. Throw the rest of it away.

IIRC, hit "edit" and then "go advanced". You should be able to change the thread title from there.

Sonnydaze, I will trade you an Opinel no8 for your MPR. :p I can understand though. I once go to handle a ZT 550. A folding brick is what it felt like.

No prob. It was a while before I knew about it myself. Maybe you could ask about the MPR down in the Benchmade company forum.

I like mine.
It's a bit big in the pocket for the length of blade, but the handle fills the hand nicely for actually using it.
If you want a slim knife that you never remember is there, get something else.
If you want a stout knife with a hand-filling handle, and don't mind tip down carry, go ahead and get one. :)

I like the way it's feels in the hand nice grip sweet blade shape thump studs work great feels like a two hundred dollar knife that said the pocket clip is one of the worst I have had . Makes the knife turn side ways in you pocket the wait of the knife is very uneven in the pocket it makes it uncomfortable to EDC . I don't mind the wait or how stout the knife is I actually like it a lot it's the way they position the pocket clip just doesn't work for me .

Sonnydaze is right, and when I had mine, it was too small and thick for what it was, if im going to carry something bulky like that might as well carry a zt0200. What I hated worst was the pocket clip. the knife stuck out so far it it seemed to always get in the way.It was very annoying .I replaced it with a grayman dua, small & stout like the mpr,but slimmer, better pocket clip, and carrys so much better than the 755.

I like the knife but it is too box-like to be comfortable in pants pocket. I carry it in my chore coat pocket. It is a great little compact sturdy tool. Just needed to find the right niche for it.

I dig mine. It's extremely unique.

It's very light for it's thickness, thanks to the use of G10 instead of unnecessary metal for the frame.

The liner/frame/whatever lock looks great. I wish more makers would put a piece of G10 over their frame lock, it looks so clean and interesting.

M390 steel is just amazing. I never would have thought such a thing possible 20 years ago when ATS34 was considered "super" steel.

The pocket clip is lame, I don't use it, the MPR is the only folder I've ever wanted to use a lanyard with.

I like them. I bought one as a gift for my wife a couple years ago and it's a nice little piece of kit. Like mentioned above it's a chunky little knife so it's not everyones cup of tea.

I have one on order now. I just can't resist the design. (Well, I resisted for over 5 years anyway)
I also ordered a Boker Pipsqueak.

I love stout little folders.

I take that back. I hate the Boker Nano. I don't like the Curtis F3 very much either. The handles don't fit my hands.
I hope the MPR and Pipsqueak feel better.

I debated between the mpr and techno, held both at a store and went with the techno, as it fit my hand much better.

Fitting the hand is very important.
I actually had zero interest in the MPR...until I saw one at the local gun store and checked it out.
Less than 5 minutes later I was walking out the door with it. :)

It just fit my hand really well; I could tell right away that it was going to be a useful little knife.
