Very nice!

That's going to be near Gold Class in material with S90V stainless steel blade and carbon fiber handle. Pricey though at a street price of $267.75. By comparison, the current 484 model with M390 and contoured G-10 is $191.25.

Any advantage of S90V vs. M390? I thought M390 was top of the line. I have one BM with each.

S90V holds a sharp edge longer but it's more time-consuming to sharpen.

In Ankerson's test the 940-1 shone: Ranking of Steels in Categories based on Edge Retention cutting 5/8" rope

M390 is better at corrosion resistance.

A lot of the reason that the excellent 940-1 shone so brightly was its thin blade stock. Don't get me wrong, I'd take S90V over M390 at least six days a week, but properly profiled and heat treated they're going to be respectably close.

It may be my perception, but I didn't think the nakamura had really gathered a following yet. I want one, but it is way down on the list. I'm surprised at the special edition

The Nakamura was the only knife that made me wish I had a smaller hand.Beautiful aesthetics + my ideal blade shape.
I had the M390 version, had to sell it.If they made the same knife +1"OAL,I'd be all over it.

Great looking knife, but IMO, the handles are much too thick for a knife that size. I wish that Benchmade would put out a similar 531...

Quick thread hijack...is the 655 XAS listed on BHQ with the push-button and thumb-studs considered an auto? Anyone know?

Love my 484. The CF one looks like a winner.

The 484 is a little small for me, but it fits my hand a lot better than the 300 Ball Axis Flipper which is a no-go for me.

I think this particular model screams for a Spydie hole instead of the studs. Heck, it's already got the hump.

Benchmade doesn't put thumb studs on their autos. Double Actions, yes, autos no. It might be a DA, but it says push button assist.

I signed up for one of these. I bought my wife the M390 model for Christmas and I was really surprised at how much I liked the smaller knife. I'll rock one when I'm in the mood for something smaller than the 3.5"-4" blades that I usually edc.

yeah too thick for me too....

I find the thickness perfect for my grip, and not a problem for pocket carry. I do think it could be lighter. It would make sense to me if the the CF version has skeletonized liners.

When you compare the 484 to the 586 and 707 you'll see the difference in handle thickness and weight. So, the 484 is as thick in the handle as 586 but 707 is so thin! 586 weighs more than 4841 I'm sure the 484-1 will be lighter than the 484. For instance, the 940 weighs 2.90 ounces vs. 2.44 ounces for the 940-1. I too would've preferred a thin and fairly flat scale for the 484.
