Here are the two Nimravi I'm still using these days:

Digging in my archives:
here are the two Nimravi we reviewed with F. Perrin back in 1998...
(I used a video camera before to sample a frame... back then no digital camera on mobile phone ! :D)

Fred decided to "improve the grip" and changed/reground the handle:

Eventually we offered back the Modified Cub to Benchmade at IWA1999.

And one day, I have noticed Benchmade also improved the Nimravi handle.
(Ref my first picture where My 2001 Cub is next to a 2004 Nim...)

I love those knives. I love the names James Matthis found for them !:)

I have an older one in ATS-34 with the Kydex sheath have carried it at work as a boot knife for years. Excellent choice nice purchase!

Mine is model 140, the marking is right under the logo on the left side of the blade.

I tried sharpening it with the lansky kit, went for a 40 degree angle. Got carried away grinding and took too much from the tip. A bit bummed and will look for somebody in town to straighten it out, no more experimenting for me :)

I did get a feel for the steel a bit. At first getting going was hard, but by the time I got to 600 grit it started taking off a lot more then I expected.

This M2 feels actually feels a bit softer then the D2 on my 710, then I read that the hardening is 59HRC. It actually made sense to me, M2 is great at holding an edge, and while the hardening is not as high it gives it flexibility while it does not chip as other higher HRC steels.

When I was putting an edge on my 710 in D2 the steel felt a lot "drier" then this M2.

Still, at least with my Lanksy kit (which at this point I consider as junk) the best edge I managed to put on was on CPM S30V Manix.

Me as well, though it seldom gets used, as fixed blades are illegal in the Oklahoma City area. Was not in Kal-E-Porn-I-A, which was where I lived when it was first purchased.
