It has a bead blasted finish. It feels nice, to me, in the hand. A tad blade heavy, but nothing noticeable. Overall, I would say it's alot of knife for the money IMO. Seems like it could withstand some light chopping and may be more oriented towards military/tactical use. As for the application of tactical, you got me. I won't comment on that part as I don't have enough info in the field.

Overall impression: Nice knife. Feels good and I like it.

The black one looks like a Ti-Ni coat. That would be nice in the plain edge.
