Okay I've quit smoking for two months now and I'm going to reward myself.
Which is the better large folder between the Benchmade 710 in D2 or
the Lone Wolf Harsey T2 Ranger in S30V ?

Thanks,
nunnya

I have the 3 inch Lone Wolf and a couple 710's. The Lone Wolf is a nice knife but mine had lots of annoying fit and finish issues. Nothing bad enough to send it back, but disappointing. The 710 is a classic, axis lock is great, tough knife to beat. If its one or the other the Benchmade wins this one going away.

No problems here with Lone Wolf knives. I have a T1 and a T2. They are known for good fit and finish so the one pedropcola got must have slipped through. I like the 710 also but the LW T2 is a great heavy duty knife that will serve you well. Can't lose with either one...buy both...:)

Regards

I just picked up a Lonewolf D2, which is a double action model and I love it. 4 inch blade and a hidden auto release that kicks the blade out like its owed money. Love it. Hard use knife. I like BM's and own a few. LoneWolf is very underated.

I have a Lonewolf and absolutely love it. Both have great attributes, find the one that has exactly what your looking for and get that one, .....then you'll buy the other as well.

love my two lonewolfs , well made hard working knifes . benchmades are nice too if i were you i would pick the one i liked the best. if you were me you would get both of them

Thanks for the replies.
Both is not an option at this time.
Is the Axis lock better than a liner lock?
Is S30V better than D2?
Not trying to start trouble here, just torn between the two.

Thanks,
nunnya

Anyone have a picture showing the thickness of the Harsey? Thats the only thing holding me back from buying one. Thanks.

Haven't tried a LW yet, but have been carrying a 710D2 for a week now and can't praise it enough.

I'm a user, not really up to speed on metals like many of the knife guys here. The Lone Wolf I have is S30V,From all accounts I have read is a great blade steel. See which one fits your hand. If you are a knife punisher or are going to punish this knife, Buy the lonewolf, reports are thats what it is made for. It is a brut of a folder. I actually replaced my Emerson with this knife for my turnout gear. I havent used it in firefighting yet, but then again the day isnt over yet. ;)

On the flip side, I dont think I have heard more praise for any production knife out of Benchmade that recieves more praise then the 710. Either way, whatever you buy you wont be under knifed in the folder realm of knifedom.

I have both knives. There are qc problems with the lone wolfe. Its a very good knife, just not perfect. The blade is excellent though.

If I had to have one or the other, I'd go with 710 in D2. Great knife, carries very small in the pocket but has very big knife performance, the D2 blade is really outstanding.

You made a good choice!

Received knife today from knifeworks.com , very happy.
Sharper than I expected and very tight.
I think it will break in nicely.

Thanks for your input,

Thanks Markksr,

Someone on this forum had some good advise for sharpening the 710.
Mine doesn't need it yet , but I'd like to find the link.
Can't seem to find it doing a search.
