Benchmade or Spyderco Folder

And although I loved lockback knives I always hated the way I have to fumble the Spydies around in my hand and almost always had to use 2 hands to close it up since the lock was right in the middle of the back of it.

That's my (only) beef with most of the Spyderco knives, although I still EDC a ZDP189 Delica at work.

I've been spoiled by the Benchmade Axis locks and even the usual liner or frame locks. When I use a lockback like the Delica with the lock release in the middle of the handle, I always fumble it for a second trying to get it closed. It's easy enough to do one-handed, but not as easy as the other types.

I look at it as a trade-off. The axis lock is harder for myself to keep clean, I had that problem when EDCing a Rittergrip. I am rough on knives. I actually use the heck out of them. The Endura 4 I tote right now takes more time to open or close, but for me it's worth it for ease of maintaining. Seriously, I probably used that knife close to 50 times today, so I am getting quicker! :D
