Nice! What finish did you put on that? I love my 913. It's beat up and worn pretty bad but it still keeps going.

Acid wash/blackwash. Before etching blade had poorly polished finish

So it's etched on that poor mirror finish.

I used ferric chloride, temperature of water for solution - the hottest water from tap, time of process - I was keeping blade in it about 80, maybe 90 seconds. Acid solution saturated with precipitated sediment. Blade disassembled from handle, with secured pivot and lock area [with duct tape], degreasing with acetone before wash. After all resharpen of course.

Effect is very nice, looks and feel under finger like old gun oxide, mostly I think because it was etched on polished blade for short time - longer time and you get mat, rough texture, darker in one light and more grey at different angle. IMHO Steel D2 is more susceptible to acid etching than VG-10 for example. I'm very happy with that modification. It's hard to show on pictures with 5 mpix phone camera.

I done acid stonewash on that knife long time ago, but I wasn't happy with that effect after some time. [here are pics http://i.imgur.com/I3QQhjs.jpg , http://i.imgur.com/hvvET1L.jpg ]
