Benchmade Pika Steel

The first knives were N690, but the steel was subsequently changed to 440C. Both are good steels, and the 440C of the current knives works quite well.
 
Not sure, but usually in knives that cost no more than a Pika does, a company switches for either a steel that's cheaper or easier to get, or both.
