Benchmade Presidio Ultra....poor man's RitterGrip?

If you don't mind 440c, sure. The blade geometry looks similar.

I've been beating the crap out of mine for the past week getting the house ready for sale and the 440c is doing just fine. The edge was pretty thick when I got it....thinned it out a bit and it has been holding up great.

Is it made in the U.S.A.?

How does it compare to the Griptilian?

It is made in the U.S.A.

I can't really give a comparison to a Griptilian as the only Grip I've ever owned was a large Ritter M2 that had been reground by Tom Krein. This knife would not be comparable to a large Grip due to the size difference.

I just got the 522 Presidio Ultra Friday, I've been carrying it EDC since, and it is a very well made folder.

Here's a shot with my Ritter.

It has full steel liners, so pound for pound, it might be a little stronger than Grip' handles, but so far I've never broken Grip' handles, so not sure if it would be or not?

Thanks morrowj_98.

And thanks for the picture Chris.
Which one do you like better?
Do they feel different in your hand?
Is one more comfortable than the other?

I have Ritter Grips and Presidio Ultras in both sizes. I prefer the PUs' handles, but the Ritters' blades.
I find that the Ritters thumb open easier, as their studs sit further out from the handle when the knife is closed. I also like the thumb ramps that are a Ritter feature...and the flat grind.
My PU and MPUs' blades are paper-thin towards the tip - a little too thin for my liking.

I can't say I've had the Ultra long enough to say for sure.

Both have excellent ergonomics.

I'll second pretty much what Steve said, the hollow grind on the Ultra is drastic, it has a pretty think blade, that drops down to a VERY thin tip. If there is a weak spot on this knife, that may be it.

I have had nothing but good luck with Benchmade's 440C, it seems like they put a really good heat treat on it.
