Benchmade Prices

I can't remember ever not being drawn to knives, even as a kid lusting over the 'Tree Brand' display case at the local country store. Now I can't walk into any store having a knife case without stopping and looking.
My first "assisted opening" was a moderately priced Kershaw at Walmart. Carried it for a few years and still have it. There have been a few others since, but my first BM was a 'Doug Ritter' built on the Griptilian. Loved that knife! Left it on the back bumper of my SUV after tying on a kayak and drove off. I searched and searched for that knife but never found it. I actually laid in bed at night grieving over its loss. Couldn't sleep. So I bought another one. Sitting here in front of me now after tying on a lanyard. Love the axis lock. No defects have I noticed. Sad that BM dumped Ritter back in 2016. But happy Hogue has taken over production. Ritter has done a lot for knife rights and I'm proud to carry one of his folders.

So sorry for your loss. That bold part cracked me up. On a serious note, Ritter Grip or Ritter Hogue are beautiful and solid folding knives.

The value of a product is set on what your willing to pay for it.
I recently broke my Limit of 50$ ... less than a year ago. Almost ashamed how addicted to knives I've been.

I've paid these premium prices for knives.
I don't think they are going down either.
If you want it for the $ it's fair game.

I don't see the advantage of spending 2xs the price for Hinder or another maker. They offer the same type of product for significantly more of this price issue.

Good luck

They're all knives, but Hinderers are that much better, imo. Ymmv.
