Benchmade problem !

A good blade should take a lot more than what they should be subjected to on a daily basis.

I've owned a lot of 154CM BMs, and I feel like it's usually a pretty soft steel, tends to bend and roll rather than chip. I've had the tip of a 710 D2 break off on me, but I'll be the first to admit it was my own fault.
 
like others have said 154CM is a rather soft steel similar to ATS-34.

Sounds like a bad blade, send it in to BM if it's a bad blade they'll either send you a brand new knife or replace the blade for free.
