Benchmade Question?

Current Benchmade M4 is run harder to take better advantage of that steel's performance. D2 is run pretty hard and personally "rust" is not something I've ever seen on one. I've seen a 710 which was used by a diver in the ocean and it didn't rust. So not sure what that's about. As for 154CM, I like it a lot. It's easy to keep sharp with just some swipes across jeans or something else to strop it with and it's affordable and used in lots of different knives.

I wish Benchmade didn't coat the Contego's M4. It's actually more prone to corroding than D2 (hence it being coated and D2 isn't) but I guess they have to protect themselves from the people who wouldn't take care of them and then send them back demanding they be fixed or replaced.

Personally I like the Contego but the G10 is way too grippy. I Picked up the new one from Roger at Knifeworks in M390 and it's really well done. It looses the glass breaker and the blade is not coated. It's polished very well as is the G10 so it's much smoother overall. Super nice knife. I don't miss my original Contego in M4 one bit.
