benchmade regular or small Griptilian

No comparison shots, but I do have one and carry it with me everywhere. It is very light weight and compact, but perfectly designed handle to carve out anything you need without blistars or fatigue.

I've carried Buck, Gerber, Case, Schrade and all the "walmart" knives, but wouldn't trade this in for any of those! Buy it, you won't regret it.

I have a Regular Grip in Olivedrab Black blade Sheepsfoot w/serrations. It's a workhorse! I have been thinking of nabbing a mini, just ain't got to it yet. The one I have is a tough SOB!!!!

thanks alot guys, knew I came to the right place
anyone own both
I think I will get the regular
is it to big in the pocket
I still am on the fence

I have a couple of the full size Grips, with the Ritter Grip in my pocket most of the time. Every time I have considered purchasing the Mini, I have put it back in the display because it felt too small in my hands. I could probably get used to it, as I do have and use knives that are smaller than the Grip; I think I have done this with the Cabela's D2 version at least three times.

As to which one for you to order, the easy answer is for you to get both. I know that there are threads here that have both pictured together. Maybe a google search on this domain would reveal them.

Good luck.

Images on this site, middle of page with both sizes shown together.

My full size Grip rides in my right rear pocket. No problem with size. I sometimes carry a folder in a horizontal sheath on my belt, but haven't done so with the grip.

the mini is a very nice small knife. If you were going to really use the knife a lot for more than opening boxes, I think the regular would suit you better. I carry mine in my back pocket with the clip removed. Once you get the hang of the axis lock you can flick it open, cut something, then close it and put it away so fast that people around you aren't sure what they saw.

Here are my Ritter Grip's, I've got several regular and mini's and I find the full size a little better to carry.

Full size Ritter grip is my EDC, that or the Benchmade 14205 are the best folders out there IMHO.

No prob!
I would highly recommend spending the extra cash on the Ritter grip or the Benchmade 14205 ;)

thanks
I'm going with the standard griptillian and then I may buy a ritter for the flat grind
is there a good heat treat on that s30v or did they leave it soft like alot of maufacturers that use it

I just ordered a mini Grip and it came in yesterday. It is yellow. It is hair popping sharp. I am 6' 2" and have regular sized hands for a man my size, which is 200 pounds. It fits well and feels great. Back whne you could search this forum, there was a man who said he had hands so big that he could not find gloves for at Cabelas and the mini grip was big enough for him. He was 6' 5" as memory recalls.

Other similar sized knives I have are Buck 501 and Kershaw Leek and Sypderco Native. I will say, if you have any of those, the mini is comparable. I didn't want the full sized because carryability issues, and the lack of steel liners and a lot of people say the plastic makes the full sized one look cheap. I guess it is more noticable.

I can's imagine the mini ritter being however much better than the $54 mini grip. They cost $50 to 460 more and look about the same. It simply can not be. I have S30V Native, and S30V is nice, but it ain't double the money nice, especially after reading all the Ritter chipping stories..
