It's my favorite knife. Although it's big, it's easier for me to carry than the Manix. The handle is very comfortable for me, and the blade opens so easily and smoothly that it's a joy to use. (May look scary as heck to others, however.)
The blade came extremely sharp, and it was such a good cutter that I practiced slicing elaborate windows into the side of a Kleenex box. It's sabre ground, but still a great cutter. The blade carries a lot more heft to the point than the Manix, which is another great knife. Perfect balance.
For me, the worry was the S30V steel. You can read Cliff's report on chipping he found in S30V in the testing forum. I've had mixed luck with S30V. Some of my blades have chipped badly. Some not at all.
So I took this knife out and used it to split hard, dry Doug fir firewood, whacking large rounds and prying off big sticks of kindling -- not really the way you might want to treat a knife. But if it's going to fail, I want to know up front.
There was no damage to the edge, still razer sharp; and the knife took the prying in stride. Still stolid lockup. Blade still centered. Still opens like silk.
Great knife!
