I was drawn to the RUKUS - as if by a tractor beam. I went in to get a mini-Skirmish back in June - and was shown the new 760BLKTi, as it was an upper grade blade & Ti combo, like the mini-Skirmish, which was sadly gone (My wife had bought it for my anniversary gift!). I couldn't get interested in it - the Tanto blade is a deal-killer to me. But - there was this odd two-toned brute - a RUKUS - that talked to me. I couldn't stand it - my week had gone badly, despite the Ti/SG-2 JYDII's arrival - I bought the RUKUS. My wife was furious - she was getting it today for my birthday gift next week!
I took the clip off the RUKUS the third day - I tried it on longer than most knives, and partially liked it. It just detracts from the 'feel' when the blade is out. I would like some short screws to fill the holes, like the backside holes. I carry knives in my pockets. The blade deployment is straightforward and easy, despite the blade's size and mass. Recovery is as straightforward. Both operations bear witness to a well made knife - top drawer fit and finish. Deployed, the grip is larger than I need - a welcome change. The blade, while it will pop a few hairs, needs stropping. It just isn't fair to compare it with that SG-2 JYDII - which could whittle hair 'out of the box'. I have bought much duller new Benchmades - and one sharper (Skirmish) - but not by much. I am happy with it as is.
I just thought this was a great pocketable 'bushcraft' knife. No, it likely won't replace my Bark River fixed blades, like that neat Fox River, but it can be carried in a pocket. It should be a bit better than the Buck 110s I've carried similarly for eons. I will get some blade use time with it today - yard work! It's a keeper thus far.
Stainz
PS I grew up with dogs - both marriages were to cat lovers. We have six now - in the house - and I am allergic to them! Chlortabs - my friends - 4mg chlorpheniramine maleate - $2.88/100 at Wally World - great/cheap/OTC anti-histamine.
