Benchmade Rukus

the others have said it all. i find it carries very well thanks to the lowride clip. i EDC it quite often

The best way to carry one of these for me is stuck in the front waistband. All edges are well radiused so this is very comfortable, out of sight and easy to get at from any position. Overall this is the best Benchmade knife I have used, and the longer blade cuts just about anything better IMHO.

I really like mine- no hotspots in my hand, carries well, sharp bugger too. My only issue is that the pivot pin get loose fairly easily. I have not heard anybody else mention this and don't have loctite (have not gotten around to getting any) so I just watch for any blade play and tighten as needed. If I was going bushside for an extended period I would feel comfortable with it, and probably just bring the right torx with me.

Love my Mini-Rukus; the thing's a tank. The full-size was a bit too big for my pocket, and likely to send the Sheeple screaming.

Ah, but a 5 inch fixed blade, by definition, does not fold. The average handle length of a 5 in fixed is about, what, 4-6 in? You slap that on to the 5 in blade and add on the sheath.... Not quite the same as a large folder.

It actually does sit in the pocket really well, The clip is so far back on the handle that it is virtually invisible once its in your pocket. PLus if the full size is too big, buy the mini.

I've been sporting one around for a while now and its a GREAT knife... Not just cause Neil is a bud of mine either;)
That is the exact reason I got my mini-Ruckus, I had no idea it would become my favorite hard use folder!

As long as people are jumping in suggesting knives other than what the OP was asking about... I'll say that if you want a big scary beefy folder... go all out and get a Strider AR or a Crusader Forge. They're more expensive... but they are massive and built like tanks. I would say more so than the Rukus... not that the Rukus isn't also a substantial knife though.

The only other thing suggested is the mini Rukus and the OP wanted to know about the Rukus- many that have been here a while may consider the mini to be close enough to the original to give their opinions, based on the fact that it is still a Rukus, and that is the model the OP asked for.

Excellent design... I read some glowing reviews of both the full-sized and mini in TK magazine. Do yourself a favor and try to check them out in person. The large Rukus is a pretty impressive folder! I opted for a mini myself, my needs just didn't quite justify the larger/original size...

I have both the BM 610 and the BM 615. Hiking and camping, I have the 610 as a back-up for my fixed blade. It fills that role perfectly. The handle design locks right into your grip. I also trust the Axis lock system more than any other on the market. I don't think one can find better value for a hard use folder.

It's a HUGE knife, very robust. I love mine but it's too big for my ormal in-the-waistband carry and too big for my pocket. Here it is against other bMs for size and in a horizaontal carry leather sheath I made last year.

Mine did the same thing, Kris. I removed both screws (one each side), cleaned them, then used blue locktite to put them back in, tightening up til it was just right (for me). No further issues.
