Benchmade service/warranty experiences?

Today I just got back my 800sbt AFCK...I had sent it back 6/21. Last year I'd sent it back for problems with the blade and pivot area, but it was only adjusted, which meant the blade was back to bad in two days.
This time was different.
I talked to Dave in the warranty department, and he actually took time out to speak to me for about 10 minutes. Today I opened the box and out came a brand new 800sbt, complete with the improved G-10 scales, new (aluminum???) spacer, just an excellent replacement...which I did not expect. It even has a better out-of-box edge than my original had. Dave had also told me that for warranty work you don't need to pay the return postage. You may want to call the warranty department to make sure, but that's how it worked out for me.
I'm very happy with their service.

James Y,

You are lucky. My 710 axis was mailed late last week and should arrive by end of this week. I sent my knife in on 6/24. I hope I have such a farvorable experience. I called one/week to check on the knife and I always felt like I got the run around/blown off.

I will post my outcome after I receive my knife. Who knows how long the 2nd 710 axis will take (that was mailed about 2 weeks ago)....LOL.

Thanks Yek for posting this here. I posted over on the BM website, as I thought it would hit home better.I was very upset at the time, and tried to keep my cool upon seeing what they had done. It hurt real bad, as I pride myself in some of the knives in my collection, and I want them as close to perfect as possible, which that knife could never be again, seeing as how the blades are no longer made, and they did not have any laying around.
I've said all I'm going to say, as every time I think of it, I get mad all over again. As a matter of fact, I gave it away so I wouldn't see it again to be reminded of what happened. I know it could be a user, so I gave it to a friend half way across the U.S.
I hope other people have better luck than I, but reading all the posts, I see not.
Also the turn around time was 2 1/2 weeks.

My .02 cents.

Larry I hate to see this I have learned my lesson with returning knives to their manufactures . Have had two knives never make it back to me and I paid return shipping . Roger Good Luck !!

Well, I finally got the knife I sent in back today. 2 days short of a month door to door.

I have to say though, that if I look beyond their lack of quality control and slow turn around times, that the fact that they REPLACED the blade, will go a long way in making things right.

P.S.- This blade is actually hair popping sharp.
