Benchmade Sibert MPR ..interesting feature

This was my thinking before I got my Bradley Alias but now 6 months after the lockbar hitting the notch I'm seeing that it does not induce blade play. In fact the mating surface of the blade tang is sort of a half moon shape instead of a flat slant like most and when the blade tang hits the notch in the lockbar its also resting on the bottom of the tang. Its hard to explain without pictures but it the side of the blade rests on the lockbard "notch" and the bottom of the blade contacts the framelock in the conventional way. Also it starts to wear into the notch after a while and provides more longevity. It seems like it would induce blade play but from what I've seen on mine and what others have said it just isn't true.

I'm with MORIMOTOM. 6 months really isn't all that long of a time for a frame lock. Good frame locks can last years before getting over so far to the right that blade play is created. I'm interested in how this addition changes anything after a longer period of time and use.

I dont mean that I've used the knife for 6 months, I mean it has now been 6 months since the lockbar has hit the notch. I agree once a framelock settles in after about the first week it stays the same place or moves slightly for a LONG time. However this knife has been in circulation between BF members here for many years now. I'm not sure when the Bradley Alias was introduced but it was bought by a member here when it came out. You guys could be right though, I understand your reasoning and I follow it as well. However this Alias just keeps locking up like a vault long after it hit the maximum wear spot. I guess only more time will tell.
