Ok so I picked up a used Benchmade full size Skirmish on another forum. The clip is pretty rough but the knife seems to be a beast of a folder and I love it already. I'd like to hear anyone's experience with this model?

Also, how good is Benchmade about sending out replacement clips?

Thanks!

Very good, just call.

I wish I had got the 630 this time last year before they ended production. :o

Looks like the search for a good used model is going to be more challenging that I thought.:(

I like the 630 a lot, it's a huge pretty, well made knife. Very solid, has a blade that's heavy, locks up dead tight. Makes even a big knife like the Military look not so big. I think it's more of a chopper than a sticker and it's heavy blade has a good feel to swing. One of my very fave B/M's of all times.

Sweet knife - I'm trying to get one myself - not an easy thing to do.

I don't know how this one came and went without even hitting my radar screen. I usually scour the BM and other catalogs every year but this one didn't grab me at that time.

Oh well - half the fun is trying to hunt down a discontinued model.

are you razorburn,i would like to see the clip..........

Nope not me. But I will try to post a pic later today.

Thanks for all the responses.

It's definitely lighter than I thought it would be for such a large folder. I've been looking for one for a while and just happened to snag this one. I sent an email off to BM asking about a clip so hopefully that will work out.

Took a couple of quick ones. Its definitely a user and has seen some pocket time but its still solid and lock up is good.

I have a mini-Skirm and it's plenty of knife, despite it's "mini" moniker.......

A good thing to do at some point (during pivot cleaning, maybe), is to polish the washers on 2000 wet dry then on a loaded strop. Polishing of the blade and scales at the pivot point, followed by a tad of lubricant, will improve the smoothness of opening on this folder.

hellfire you have scored a skirm one of my favorite bm's,they will send you a clip or i might have one around the shop.congrats...........

That is an automotive electrical pass-through washer that I found, on the ground, whilst stumbling around. I thought "I wonder if this would fit.....".

I have a question: If you send that Skirmish in the condition that it's in... is BM able to completely redo the handle too? I mean are they going to be able to even do the anodizing on those dimples?

Thanks.

It's titanium. They made it, I'm sure they could finish it back to nice. I don;t know if they'd do that though...unless you paid them for it. Those are beauty marks......

I edc mine regularly and I love it. Unbelievable value and quality for a factory knife....:)

Yeah, at this point, I really don't think I will send it back to BM for any work on the handle. I'd be happy with a new clip. The knife is solid otherwise and I kind of like the character is has. I'll probably add some more character in carrying it.

Thanks to Lone Ranger I have one coming this week. I plan on taking the clip off and trying to pocket carry the beast.

I know its over 6 ounces, but I gotta try!!

Has anyone experienced any problems with the knife? Other than its size, there seems to be only good thigns said about it.
