Benchmade Skirmish

I'm not 100%, but from talking on the phone with a B/M service representative, I'm fairly certain they will not refurbish the handle anyway.
I had a numbered 720 once that came new with a small rub in the handle and they told me they couldn't fix it.

never had any problem with a skirmish. Every one I had has been a great knife. I wish I would have kept them. There has always been the next knife though.

....................................
Has anyone experienced any problems with the knife? Other than its size, there seems to be only good thigns said about it.

When I first got mine, the edge was hitting the aft-most barrel spacer and caused a noticeable nick in the blade. At first I thought maybe I did it accidently, but I would've noticed that. SO I took the knife apart, examined it closely, and determined that the blade was closing so far off to one side (pushed by the frame lock) that it nicked the climbing rise of the barrel spacer.

I told Benchmade what I had and what I did, and they said "Send it in". It took them almost three weeks, but when it came back it was as good as new. Since then, I've polished the washers, frame, and blade at the pivot points, lubed it, and locked down the pivot screw with threadlock. It rides inside my waistband, right side, 7 days a week.

I'm not a fan at all of recurve blades, but I'm suffering that sole malady with the Skirmish. All other attributes of the knife are right up my alley.....

Stretch - I feel ya - I am not a huge fan of the recurves either (have several and carried them for a while), but everything else works for me, so I am going to try again.

I also debated HARD about getting a large sebenza instead, but the Skirmish holds some appeal - so I have to try it first.

I'll keep my eyes open for the problem you noted.

Also - what type of washers are in the knife? I saw a vid on utube for the mini-skirmish that referenced nylon. There is very little info out there for the full size Skirmish.
