Benchmade Steels on their Grip and Mini Grip Custom page

For the money, I think you are better off going with the Doug Ritter version. You get the s30v and the Ritter blade design and save about $30 off a custom.

^^^I completely agree with this. I was going to design a mini-grip on the website, until I discovered the Ritter model. I picked up a Ritter for less than what is being charged on the website. Additionally, I think there has just been a price increase. I was checking it out about a month ago, and it seemed that the mini-grips were $110 or $115 at the time. For the record, I'm loving the Ritter model and have been carrying it more than any of my other knives since I got it about a month ago.

I have been looking at this option of a custom grip for a while now, and I must say that I wish a few things, No.1- G10/CF scale options with a spacer, and No.2 a better heat treat on the 154CM as the ease of maintenance(as opposed to D2/M390 and other higher vanadium alloys) and keen edge would vastly improve.

If Benchmade could keep the consistency above Rc 60, 154CM would be king - there has to be a reason that many custom makers use CPM 154.
They changed the heat treat on the M4, why not 154CM

Really want a cool Grip, but keep missing the sprints
