Started a recommendation thread a couple days ago on this knife but had a hard time pulling the trigger on it...I have lots of knives in the $100-150 range but for $165 (black version) I was having a hard time buying it...thought maybe I could find something better for that price range. Well glad I waited...found the stryker for $124 this morning so instantly got it. Can't wait til it get here!!

Glad to see you found one you were comfortable with purchasing. There are a Lot of people that Really like that model, and it has been on my radar for awhile now.

Too bad Benchmade discontinued the model for 2017+ iirc...

it's one of my favorite benchmade models. congrats and enjoy 'er.

that's a shame it's discontinued....oh well......

One of my favorites......especially this beauty!!

I have a Stryker assist liner lock in D2 and it is an awesome knife.

It seems BM is dropping a fair number of really good knives, and it's a shame for sure, ourgon.

That's a really nice pair of Strykers, man. There have been a lot of iterations of that knife over the years, from liner locks to autos to AXIS knives. I particularly like that top one with it's well-used black-coated blade. I'm just so enamored of the old-school BMKs--AFCKs, TSEKs, 710s, 705s, Strykers--and will add that model to my sought-after list.

Below is my -1501 not long after I got it along with the AXIS mini-Stryker that has become my wife's favorite EDC. The knives are on an American Beech round in the back of my Polaris Ranger as we were bucking and splitting firewood that weekend to stock the shed for another winter's warmth.

I think the top one started life as a satin blade and he acid etched it then ran it through a stonewash.

Correct. But before that final look it was customized few times. Now it has look which I enjoy. Cutting edge is a little bit too high, but grind is thick, so...

It's with me since 2008.

I did the same to mine. Your stonewash came out much better than mine. It was a first production that I got in '07.

@ ourgon & @ tussery--
Nice ones, guys!

Don't mind that high edge, ourgon. Do you have a micro-bevel on it?

greetings all,
the original stryker was one of my all-time favorites. all the knife I ever needed. felt good and worked better. my axis stryker is close but just not the same. still kicking myself for swapping it. we live and learn. best regards to all.

Yup, been a huge fan since the original Stryker offering in the 90's.

Got mine the other day. Man what a knife. Going to kick my pm2, and gb2, out of my pocket for a while. Sure has some grippy g10 though. I can stick it on the side of my sweat pants on my calf (straight up and down) and it will stick. I can definitely see it shredding my pants. Never had a cold steel but I know that's a common complaint about their knives. I can't imagine their g10 could be more grippy than this though. Still love the knife though and glad I got one while still in supply.
