I got a Benchmade Tether in a trade and it arrived today. I wanted a small fixed blade for a PSK and this is perfectly usable.

It is tiny and light-- just 1.5oz and a hair over 5-1/2" long. The steel is 440C.

My preference is to plain edged blades, but this little claw will make a fuzz stick, get a spark off a firesteel and do general cutting chores. The lightness is surprising-- really like a feather. The lanyard that is supplied with it is a little short form my liking. I made up a 550 paracord merc harness that works great.

That is pretty cool. Do they offer a non-serated version? Think I would prefer that.

Looks like a perfect edc/backup blade.

I like them because they have a full sized handle. I hate knives with wee little handles.

I have sausage fingers.

great stuff Dale... the Benchmade tether's are cool little knives... i have owned one for a long time now... i fell in love with them when they first came out...:D

They do make a PE version, which I would like too. It reminds me of the Boker Subcom line.

Nice find. I didn't know they came in a PE version. Might have to pick one of them up.

Nice, what the material covering the handle? kinda like a blade coating, or is it a rubber like material?

It is some sort of plastic and much friendlier to the hand than it looks. It gives good traction but doesn't feel like 80 grit. With the shape and coating of the handle, I have no urge to wrap it with paracord, which I assumed I would want to do with this one.

awesome, thanks man.

I'd love to buy a plain-edge version... just have to find one. Why are they so scarce?

Stay sharp,
