Benchmade Triage 915 - Axis Lock Problem?

I just received my new Triage 915 and I was wondering if anyone else has one and finds that the Axis lock is "late"--i.e. the Axis lock's bar goes all the way in or "bottoms out" when the knife is open. In contrast, my Benchmade 940 has an Axis lock that stops moving when it's about 3/4 of the way in, so that basically there is room for "wear" and that, theoretically, the lock bar will move further and further in as the knife gets used.

I'm not sure if the difference in the locking point, for lack of a better term, is due to the design of this model, the difference in class (the earlier-locking BM 940 is a blue class whereas the BM 915 is a black class), or just that individual knives will lock at different places.

Does anyone else here have a Benchmade 915. and can anyone comment on whether your lockup is "late" and whether this might be a problem later on in terms of wear and tear and "wiggle" developing sooner?

For reference, some of the pictures I've found on here, youtube videos, and a dealer site with photos seem to all show a lock bar that goes all the way in when the knife is open, i.e. they all seem to have the same "problem" but no one mentions it, so I'm not sure if this is a normal thing:

flybri,
If the knife is not up to par, send it to BM with a note explaining the problem. Bemchmade will thake care of you.:D

Just give Benchmade customer service a call and ask them about it. As already mentioned, if they tell you that it's not normal and/or potentially problematic, I'm sure they'll take care of you.

good suggestions... i will give them a call to check. but if anyone here has a triage and sees the same thing as i do, i'd love to know, especially since all the pictures/videos i've found online seem to show that the locking action "bottoms out", but my only other benchmade doesn't do that. I'm not sure what's considered "normal" for an axis lock.
