Hey everyone!

I recently decided that my next knife will be a Benchmade Triage. I will be using this knife for general EDC as well as on duty in the law enforcement role and medical field. Do you think this is a good choice? Of all of the combinations, which Triage should I get? Straight/serrated blade? Satin/black blade? Black/orange handle? Thanks for the help!

Plain edge will be easier to sharpen, black blade will be more corrosion resistant and orange will be easier to find in your kit and for others to recognize as a rescue item.
Best of luck.

^that.

But the corrosion resistance I don't think would be a huge concern with the stainless steel blade coated or not, provided you simply care for it...

Also, while serrations are convenient for certain harder tasks, straps and branches and what have you, or when the straight edge gets dulled, if you keep your straight edge sharp, the serrations are less important, as a sharp edge will cut as well (if not better) in most cases, and the serrations will simply take away some premium cutting edge. Also if/when the serrations get dull, they are a pain in the arse to sharpen...

That's going to be preference thing... I keep a cheap straight edge and a combo edge Blur on me at work (Steel foundry), I do like the convenience of having it for certain tasks, but outside of work, I rarely if ever have a combo edge on me (I only own 2 out of 70+ folders)...

Mine is plain edge satin with Orange handles. The orange isn't my first choice but I won it in a GAW. Probably would have gone with black handles.

And you won't need to worry about corrosion. This has N680 which is what BM uses for their water knives kind of like how Spyderco use H1. On a recent family vacation I forgot my beloved Pacific Salt but I had this one in the car. It spent 10 days as my water knife. When I got home I broke it down and there was not a bit of rust. Not even on the omega springs.
