Just ordered a Benchmade Volli for possible EDC. I will let ya'll know how I feel after I finally get it.

I'm a sucker for drop-point blades... Make sure you post a lot of pictures!

I am at work so I can't post pictures at the moment but I really like my Volli. I have the satin PE. The G10 looks even better in person and feels great in the hand. I got mine for about $110 after tax and I think it is a lot of knife for the money. The blade was centered and hair shaving sharp out of the box. The blade size and shape make it a great EDC for me. I am not a huge fan of assisted knives but I really like the way this fires. My only qualm is the safety. Given the level of fit and finish of the rest of the knife, the safety just feels cheap by comparison and is a bit awkward to engage disengage. Well, it might not be awkward so much as hit and miss. It's not a huge deal. The blade requires enough pressure that the safety isn't absolutely necessary all the time. But it's there, so it would be nice if it felt more solid. Mine was a first production though so maybe they will improve it? Either way, I think it's a pretty great knife for the money.

i just ordered one too. PE satin, just how i like it.
but what to do with all the cardboard boxes i neec to cut?
maybe the mail man has the answer. :D
i think the first thing i will do before i cut down the boxes is to de-assist it.
yesterday i got bored and re-assisted my 581 barrage. after i installed the coil spring and assembled the rest, I had about 5 minutes of fun with the assisted opening.
then i remembered, that i hated it for a reason. its loud when opening and inconvinient to close. and furthermore it does not fit the knive. the manualed 581 is how this knife should be sold, in my humble opinion.
and this will probably the same opinion i will have about the volli.

"First Production 316 of 1000". I love it already. Wicked sharp. Only discomfort that I have is the safety, which I hope gets smoother with use.

I use imgur to share photos, pretty easy imo.

Also, I love my volli, wish it was a tad bigger but i can easily live with the size.

Good review! I like the specs on the Volli but haven't had the pleasure of handling one. Not sure about the assisted bit, the unassisted works fine for me, but your review defiantly piqued my interest.

I like the Axis Assist and have about all of the Barrage major models including the minis and Warn versions, the Volli and the 470 Emissary. Maybe not as easy closing as standard Axis lock knives but that does not bother me. I have not heard of the Assist spring breaking being a problem. The wide G10 scales on the Volli make it more comfortable in the hand than the Barrages IMO. Overall a good knife.

Volli is one of my fav...is like a Barrage but way better handle...fast deployment. Feels good in the hands. Home run...

I love mine as well, I did remove the assistance tho. Much friendlier at work an IMO not needed as smooth as it is.

I've had my Volli for a couple of months now. Used as an EDC it really shines. Only complaint I've got is that the opening (spring) seems a little anemic. It doesn't open with much authority :(

Anyone else experience this?
