Benchmade vs. Cold Steel and Kershaw

I think it's not the same deal: benchmade is higher than CS or Kershaw! just two company are together for the first class: benchmade and spyderco!kershaw and cold steel make both good product for low cost, but benchmade is better for hard use!I broke some benchmade, but less than kershaw!

I really like my Benchmade but I favor my Protech and Microtech knives over them. All three make strong-tough knives IMHO. You start talking some serious bucks when you venture into their yard though.

I have a few cold steel knives (vaquero grande and scimitar) and a kershaw scallion. I like the cold steel knives better than kershaw cause they just feel better to me. They also have very strong locks and blades. The other day i got locked out of my house and all i was pull out my vaquero and wedged it in between the door and the lock and pushed. Took a little effort but none the less it opened. The scallion i carry with me on a daily basis and is a good knife for opening boxes, etc....I have not used or owned a benchmade yet but i plan on saving up to buy. Probalbly the skirmish :)

I prefer Benchmade over the others metnioned. It's the knife that was clipped to the pocket of my DCU's when I got on the plane to go to the desert, and it's what I carry daily, and have carried for the last 8ish years. I do like some of the Spydercos though. Until it got misplaced, I also carried a stinaless Native, that's a cool little knife.

ANy thoughts on this? Say in the 3" or over blade length, with satin or bright finish?

I own knives from all three mentioned companies and rate Benchmade as #1, especially for folders. I do think both Cold Steel and Kershaw have very good knives...but I always come back to my general EDC, my Benchmade 805. I also like Spyderco's a lot. I'd say my two top favorite makes are Benchmade and Chris Reeve.
