Benchmade WARN blade play problem.

This is a spring assisted knife by Benchmade. The knife has developed a fair amount of blade play. Most of the play is side to side, but there is some play up and down. Unfortunately, there is no pivot screw to tighten. I think I may understand why they've done that, however that leaves the knife pretty much untinkerable. (especially since it's not mine)

Does anyone have any solutions? Short term or long term for blade play?

If you carry right pocket, take the non clip side scale off. The pivot screw is under it. ;)

Send it back to Benchmade.

They will replace the Omega springs and give it a good tune-up / cleaning inside for you.

If you don't want it sharpened, tell them on the form you print out from their website.

You can take the scales off and tighten it up yourself.

Just don't strip or lose any screws.

I'd send it back for a tune up if it were me.

They don't care if you're the original owner or not. They'll fix it.
