Just as I am of the opinion that the Leek is the quintessential Kershaw, I feel the 710 is the quintessential Benchmade. It will definitely stand up to hard-use. I have one in D2 and love it. Get one! you won't regret it. :thumbup:
 
I went through this same thing about a year ago. Finally decided to get the 710 but wanted a special one. I searched around and was able to locate one in M2 steel. It is probably my favorite EDC. It had been slightly reprofiled by the previous owner into a real slicer. Great knife. I picked up a Military but have not carried it yet. Seems much larger than the 710. The 710 fits my hand perfectly and hides very well in the pocket for a 4" blade.
