Benchmades New Boxes

I just received my recent order from Benchmade. They came in the new boxes. I heard they were changing them but didn't expect to see them so soon.

What do you think?

I like them. I hated the way the tabs on the old boxes would basically self-destruct if you opened and closed them too often. Yeah, I'm liking the new boxes. Much easier to open and close too.

I like them, but the big question is will they fit in a small Priority box. I think they are taller but not sure.

The answer is yes. I just mailed one to a friend this morning in a small flat rate box. No problems. Fit just fine.

I hope they are better than the old boxes which had lots of side to side and up and down play, and the springs would always break.....jk

Perfect reason to buy a new Benchmade, now we have better boxes as well...!

(S'long as they fit the small Priority box I'm happy.)

Just send them back to BM, and they will fix them

No play on the one's I received. They were adjusted just perfect!

Butt there's always loctite if you need it......

I just tried it and they do fit but they bulge the center of the box slightly. It will be a nice tight fit for shipping.

excellent new boxes! The old boxes were kinda on the cheap side. I hope these boxes are also American made

Love the blade design. I bought two, one for me and one for a friend. BM's Reverse Tanto is one of my favorite blade designs overall and the sheepfoot on the 550HG is closer to BM's Reverse Tanto then a traditional blunt round tip Sheepsfoot with a straight edge. It has a nice amount of belly and is a nice balance between the two that I like very much.

Those new boxes look very nice. I've always thought the little black bags they came in are awesome, I love them. Unique idea.

They look nice, I also wasn't a fan of the tabs on the old box. From your photos it seems like you still get the little silk bag even with the added padding within the box. Are the boxes still printed in the USA or did they go the way of Spyderco?

Yes, you still get the silk bag. But I noticed is there was no cardboard tab that said "AXIS" that they used to put between the pocket clip and the handle.

As far as where the boxes are made I can't tell one way or the other. The box say's the same thing the older boxes said. "Printed in USA" is about a close as it gets to saying anything about the box. If their even talking about the box. I just can't tell.

Guess a call to BKC is the only way to find that one out.
