benchmade's new hawk

The BM hawk looks great to me but ,just like Emerson's hawk, it's seems pretty expensive for something most people won't carry that much. I have Sog's Fusion hawk which costs about $50 and I'm also planning on getting the new CS Trench hawk which will cost about the same. And yes, of course, they're made out of cheaper materials which doesn't matter that much to me because [ I'll venture to say] like most people I just want them because they're cool.

The benchmade is made with 1095, the CS `1055, whats so inferior?

im rather dissapointed with it myself. the fact that its 1095 carbon is cool. the fact that it has g10 handle scales is pretty cool. the fact that it looks exactly like the other k5 tactical hawk completely ruined it for me. when benchmade said that killian was designing it, i assumed he was going to design something new, not just chance the materials used to make it. it is an awesome tomahawk, no doubt about it, but its too damn expensive and not nearly original enough in my opinion. i would take a battle hawk over it any day.

Eddie clearly designed it and it's his K5 under the BM name. My K5 serves as a breaching axe. But it is certainly too heavy for defensive work unless in a pinch.

That being said, I am glad BM is looking and playing with the concept.

I forgot to mention that when I bought his K5 a few years ago, it was $150 with the sheath included. I'm curious what prompts the $275-$325 prices when the original can be had for $200 off of his website, http://k5tactical.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=23&products_id=76?

well there are more than one person running around here that never did get a K5 from Eddie to the point he quit posting:o i never did order one because of that so maybe BM is charging higher prices because they can actually deliver.;)

No in all honesty i would think the BM should run a similiar price as the K5
