it is, but - busse combat cant compare to the himalayan imports ang khola for chopping power. design simply wont allow it, so for real chopping, the bm-wont really see to much use...
i will always prefer the 10" bm blade over the 8 (?)" steel hearts blade, hands down. but, as has been stated, the sh will show first, and the sh will be generally lighter and more compact then the bm for general carry...
for machete work, i have a machete, and for de-limbing of smaller tree's, im not sure wich would be better, the basic 9, or the new battle mistress, but honestly i think that it isnt big enough of a difference for to go into complete debt *the sh will only put me mostly into debt

*.
i can understand the features of the bm and their benefits, the grooves on the spine, and the clip point, added blade length and weight, but i dont think i'll ever be in a situation that calls for them so much that the steal heart cant do the job admirably in its place. yes, its a complete package of oppurtunity costs, especially since the thicker sh version will probably bring the weight closer to the standard bm, but i think that if i try hard enough i could get someone to trade me a bmf for it and possibly something else later on *sk, pd, b9, whatever i have at the time*....
it will all come down to how it feels in the hand.... and MAN do i ever wish i had picked them up at blade west....
*lol... my mp3 playlist just went from leadbelly (where did you go) to tool (aenima) to mirah's new album... what a difference...*
