Seven months ago a close family friend had a son – Ben - who was born with some serious health conditions. We here at Fiddleback Forge have decided to help with their medical bills by donating a knife a week to help support this family. We actually have 2 for this week! One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Ben. We will cover all the fees as well (paypal & shipping), so literally every dollar goes to him. If you choose to pay more than the regular price that all goes too. Below is a brief snippet of Ben’s condition, and a short note from his Mom, Becky.
Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes non-malignant tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. The aspects of TSC that most strongly impact quality of life are generally associated with the brain: seizures, developmental delay, intellectual disability and autism. The incidence and severity of the various aspects of TSC can vary widely between individuals—even between identical twins.
Becky’s note –
“I will never give up on my Ben. There is nothing that can describe watching your son, your sweet innocent baby boy, have seizure after seizure. Luckily for us, Ben melts our hearts with everything he does. We appreciate all your support, and ask in addition, for your prayers.”
Each Tuesday we are going to offer a knife for sale to support young Ben. It is going to be among the best we make that week. Hopefully your enthusiasm for my knives can help a child in need. Thank you very much for your support of Fiddleback Forge, and also for baby Ben. Shark the knives as always. Anything extra you’d like to give to Ben will be appreciated. Thank you.
