Has anyone ever destroyed or damaged a BK9? I've only seen 1 broken BK9. I was out today in the woods and I ended up bending it. I did not get a photo of it, but I bent it back into place. What should I do from here? Is it a heat treat problem.. Not too sure on what to do..
 
Sounds like a heat treat issue, I'd contact Ka-Bar customer support. I've handled mine enough to know it shouldn't bend.
 
Pics of the re-bend? I'm gonna guess Ka-Bar may not replace/address the issue based on your say so. This is definitely one of those times when "pics or it didn't happen" should have been the order of the day. At the very least let's see some pics of the post trauma surgery.
 
I've torqued one enough to know a bend should not set...sounds like a heat treat issue that just slipped thru the cracks...they should make it right for ya.
 
Did it actually bend? Or did it just flex while battoning in through a log?

Big difference.

Happens all the time. You did the right thing. Just grab it (carefully) bend it back into place and you're good to go.

Don't worry about pics or details of how it happens. Just work on your "bending her back" technique. Welcome aboard, great post. :thumbup:

Why won't anyone say how this initially happened?
I go out in the woods all the time but it doesn't make my knives bend...
