Bent my BK9, how do I fix?

I originally contacted customer service via the web page, no love.

I called the CS number a few weeks ago and spoke w/ Mr. Young. He confirmed that a bent blade caused by clubbing the knife through a knotty log isn't covered in the warranty. However, if I sent it in, he'd replace it.

I sent the knife in and got a new one back promptly. I'm thrilled to get a replacement.

I have been thrilled with KA-BARs over the phone customer service as well. What a great company.

Wow that's CS.

I own a bk-11, bk-7 and a bk-9 as back up to my primary Esee rc blades. I am not impressed that batoning wood is not part of the warranty for a hard use blade. If I bent one of my Esee rc blades I would get a new one under a no questions asked warranty. Ka-bar needs to raise the bar if they want to stay in this game. KNIFEABILITY-a must for all humans

You may have missed the part where he said the knife was replaced. That's also been the case in every instance that I'm aware of.

Ethan Becker stands behind his knives, as does Toooj. Since you're apparently new to all this, I might point out that KA-BAR has been in business for over one hundred years, whereas ESEE, a very good company to be sure, has only been at it for a comparatively short time.

If you like you can go tell Jeff that you put in a good word for ESEE by pointing out how bad you think Becker service is. I'd kind of like to know what he has to say when he stops laughing. You might also want to tell him how you were telling KA-BAR what they will have to do to stay in business. You are aware, of course, that Jeff and Ethan are very good friends.

Reading this made me even more confident to purchase a BK-9...ka-bar definately sound like a company I can have piece of mind dealing with (i usually wont buy a knife unless i know i have the backing of the company who made it).

I would say you could buy a BK-9 with complete confidence. KA-Bar has been in business for a very, very long time, and is one of the most respected companies in the business.

Not only does KA-BAR stand behind their product, but Ethan Becker of Becker knives, who's a really stand up guy, is even more adamant about the quality of his knives. With the partnership between Becker and KA-BAR as strong as it is, I'd say you can have complete confidence in the product.
