Bent up some Combat Plastic Britches this weekend

Awesome work!:thumbup: I can see you must have a great press for being able to form the Kydex with such details! Home made or?

Boar-gen

It really doesn't have much to do with the press (which you can tell is definitely homemade ;)), but the pressure.

I crank it down in a vice as tight as I can for about 5 minutes. The 5 minutes can then be used to enjoy a cold beer in order to properly hydrate yourself for the arduous process of drilling holes for the rivets (which requires more beer).

Here is the press I made. I used the foam from knifekits, although, I think a foam sleeping mat (either military or wal-mart) would have worked just fine for less money. I used some old leather coasters for 'hinges'.

I use the foam from Knifekits also. The sleeping mat foam works and is cheaper, but I found it loses it's sponge-iness after a while. Good job with the press. Mine is 1/4 steel plate with the foam glued to it, mounted in a bench vise. As you stated, it's all about finding the right pressure.

Cool press KD!
I don't have a photo, but my press involves my 400 plus pound sister in law.
Here are a couple hot off the "PRESS":D:D

You mean THIS stuff... :D:thumbup:

That would be beverage in question.

Nice press btw, I might have to look into getting something together and making some plastic trousers for my FBM.

Where are you getting you kydex? locally or mail order?

Yeah... good beer!

Mail order. I found some locally, but it was a 5x8 sheet for $130 bucks. I passed. www.knifekits.com has just about everything you need. You can buy the kydex, teklok's, and rivets there. Tandy leather has the rivet setters for the 1/4" eyelets.

I used the .06 kydex most of the time, but have used some .08. Both work fine. I haven't tried the .93 yet, but I have some on order just for sh*ts and grins.

Thanks for the info, as soon as I get the wife appropriately buttered up I might have to make a few new acquisitions.

Looks great, little bro...and the ones you made for the tan cultie are awesome too. Gonna need one for my Mistress as I'm afraid that thing will cut through my war bag, my seat and eventually the floorboard if I leave it loose in the back of my truck. At least I know you can be paid with your favorite beverage instead of real cash.
;)
