We are back. Berlingame is a pretty big state park with over 700 campsites!
I can see it getting way too crowded during the summer. Luckily the cooler temps this early in the season kept it fairly quiet. Since Marcelo and I had our families we opted for the cabins. I wasn't thrilled about this at first, but it really did make a difference with the wives and Children. The cabins have 2 bunk set ups, no mattresses ofcourse; fairly decent sized. Probably abit crowded for Marcelo, his wife, and 3 kids; but plenty of room for my wife, daughter and I. I brought my hammock, in hopes to sleep in that, but the lack of trees on our site made it impossible. The camp site was on the south shoreline of Watchaug Pond. It is known to be pretty good Bass lake, as well as trout on the Northern end.
We arrived on the first day to winds blowing 30-40 MPH! High was about 53F. The overnight temps were to dip at about freezing point, and this morning I am quite sure it goth there; as everything was covered in thin layer of frost at 6am when I got up.
We had a great time and it was very nice to excape from stress of everyday life. The park was excellent for the kids and some lazy car camping. Its not the hardcore outdoors alone in the woods senario, but there is an abundant of things to do there. I would definately visit it again with the family.
Anyway, enjoy the pics!

With the campsite prepped, it was off to the beach (only a 10 minute drive away)

More coming
