>>>SOLD<<<Arno Bernard Hunter. 4 5/8” ATS34 blade, mirror finish on flats, satin finish grinds. OAL 9”. Truly magnificent bark fossil mammoth ivory slabs, very well matched—much better than his warthog ivory and superior to any other mammoth ivory I’ve seen from Arno--or just about anybody else. Stainless bolsters, tapered tang. Pouch style sheath of dark brown Cape buffalo leather. If you're looking for an impressive mammoth-ivory hunter, this one is a bargain.

AZCK's price on this knife was $390.00.

Mint, unused, uncarried, unsharpened--just as I received it from AZCK.

I'll sell it for $340 shipped.

That's a gorgeous hunter there Will. I gave my Uncle (Editor of Georgia Wildlife magazine and a BIG hunter) an Arno hunter for his birthday. He loves it. Someone better snap this up. Bernard makes GREAT knives. I may need to investigate the state of MY finances....

Thanks for the plug, Jim!

I don't know how many forumites are familiar with Bernard, but Arno has been a member of the South African Knifemaker's Guild since 1994 and has been showing in the US for almost 10 years.

Here's a picture of the knife in sheath, showing how the deeply-grained Cape Buffalo leather sets off dark chocolate veins running through incredible red-gold swirls and cream of this fossil bark mammoth ivory.

A truly collectible package from this talented South African--ancient ivory, fine steel, and soft-tanned buff leather. Or at this price, buy it, use it, and let your hunting buddies obsess over it.

I'd like to amend the record concerning the performance potential of this handsome hunter. I'm sure the ultra-high hollow grind has not escaped notice. Taken from high off the blade down to a nice thin edge, with just a smidgin' of secondary bevel, this blade was seriously ground to cut. Hair will pop from your arm with authority, guaranteed. And you won't be sharpening this knife all day to restore that kind of performance--just touch up the minimal edge bevel with a steel, and she'll be popping hair again in short order.

Didn't want anyone to think just because it's such a beautiful knife, that it might be just for show. ;) This jewel is definitely a cutter.
