Besides SAKs, FAKs, BOBs, EDCs, PSKs, FSKs and CCWs what else do you try to work in?

Scotch, something so smoke. Last trip I put some audio books on my mp3 player, really enjoyed listening to some good stories as I went to bed under the stars.

Hmm. Music.

I either need a pocket didgeridoo or one that can double as a hiking staff.;)

I thought my Martin Backpacker (guitar) was neat but I think yours takes first prize. Very nice! Some serious construction talent there.

My Native American cedar flute travels with me often in the bush. Since I REALLY dislike ANY kind of canned music in the wilderness camp, I learned to play the melodic flute that even the coyotes don't seem to mind. :)

I keep my harmonica in my pack , playing the upright bass its kinda hard to lug that around in the bush, I am looking in to getting a irish penny whistle.

If I had time to learn another instrument I would probly learn the mandolin because of its size it wouldn't be to bad to bring in to the bush.

there is something about playing out in the woods , it just feels good,

besides noise maker I like to bring a flask of hooch , maybe a nice whiskey or burbon, and a decent cigar, Monte Cristo, Cohiba, H.uppman something cuban
just cause I can..

hahhaa Pitdog, you look so cold there...i believe that was the beach trip this winter, with the high winds?

I carry a camera. It came in handy during a gang takedown by police locally. I snapped off tons of pics and got paid for it.

Another fun instrument to pack along is a practice chanter, this is the fingerhole pipe of the bagpipe. Fun to play and it's sound fits in outdoors very well. Inexpensive madels are found all over the web.

The ultimate instrument...

THE KAZOO!!!

Makes everyone a savant, the worst players will sound just as good as the best!

If I have a bud with me a frisbee is always nice to have. Otherwise it's just a plate, which is nice too.

Hey Jimi, bass is my #1, though I don't take one into the swamps I did make one that I take on the bike.

Not me, at my skill level I would be afraid of arousing the amorous attention of a moose :)

I'm not sure what to say about the kazoo. Believe it or not the mirlon, I think that's the family the kazoo comes from, goes back a long way.

I play french horn as my primary instrument, but for backpacking I play a mean Italian-style ocarina or tin whistle (I have a Chieftain in D).

I was just thinking about my ocarinas after I posted last night, I've got a couple made out of rose wood that are very small, I've never taken a tin whistle with me either but its a great little instrument, I can't remember what key mine is, maybe "C".

I've always thought a concertina would be cool too but they are a little bigger than I may want to carry, I guess about as much trouble as a ukulele.

This one I made last year it's not too big still a 12" scale but made like a banjo. A good bit louder than the other gourd uke.
