The title says it all. I'm looking for a frame lock up to $150 US. I know there are a lot of nice titanium-handles ones like the Spyderco Sage II and the Kershaw JYD, but I'm looking for something with a little more handle material and not just bare metal. It's really hard to find a good frame lock in this category when my $30 Boker Trance does the job just fine (good blade steel, frame lock, flipper, Zytel scale, everything I'm looking for) but I'd like something that's a step up in terms of quality and appearance. This won't be a dress knife, more of an EDC. Thoughts?

ZT 0200 is a liner lock but a beefy one. G-10 handles and plenty robust. The ZT 030x series is a framelock but over $200.

kershaw has some pretty good framelocks for good prices. the storm 2, od1, leek, and shallot are all really good framelocks. you could get a few of them for less than 150.

Closest I found was 180. He asked for a framelock, not a liner lock. Plus, it's JNieporte asking here. I am almost positive he knows about the ZT 0200 as well as the 0350 (both of which are liner locks).

Kershaw Speedform which is coming out is 180. I'm sure one of the Kershaw vendors here will have a better deal on it. http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=KS3500 It has g10 inlays and a new elmax steel for the edge with a d2 spine.

Buck Mayo TNT. Paid $120 for mine a few years ago, don't think you can still buy them for that.

Isn't the new Benchmade Sibert going to be 150 dollars? Not out yet so no idea if it's any good.

I don't think so, I could be wrong. Benchmade website has an MSRP well over 200 bucks.

I just realized the Fallkniven P folder can be had for around 115 bucks. It's a frame lock with vg10 steel. It has a construction similar to the CRK Mnandi because it has a scale covering a portion of the frame lock bar. Video of it here.

Yes, I know about (and own) a lot of the Kershaws with frame locks. OD-1, Leek, Shallot, Chive, JYD, Scallion. I guess to narrow things down, I'm looking for a Buck Vantage but with a frame lock and a little better steel. I love the deep tip-up pocket clip and the handle material, but I'm looking for a frame lock.

The Fallkniven shown is nice, but I'm looking for something with a complete handle scale (ie. none of the top liner showing) but I left that part out. I should also point out that I'm looking for an unpainted blade; no black or grey coating. The RAT Izula folder looks to be perfect except for the blade coating, but it's not out yet.

I may have to settle for a linerlock.

How about that Speedform I linked? It has complete scales.

The Speedform's description was wrong on quite a few of the websites. There is no integrated G-10 inserts on the Speedform. That's only on the Volt. The Speedform has a complete Ti handle.

You could look into a Spyderco Leafstorm. It's not real big, but it's a great little knife. You could also look into one of the knives you've already mentioned like the Sage II or the Kershaw Ti/SG2 JYD and have a G-10, Micarta, or Carbon Fiber scale made for it.

Sg2 JYD is a tank of a framelock. It's my favorite EDC and is truly a great knife. If you can find one for less than $150 I'd pick it up but as they are getting farther out of production the demand is going up so prices have been going up. Most recent I've seen for a NIB was $170 but I saw blems for either $75 or $85, can't remember, so they can be had in your price range.

I sold one that went for $170, but it had a tip up deep carry clip from STR on it so that's the only reason it went for $170. I would have sold it for $145 without that mod.

I would also say get one of these while you can. I feel like it gets some recognition, but it is still a completely under rated Ti framelock.

I've seen the Speedform as low as $135 on other websites, if you don't mind not having inserts. I think the Sibert is about $150-155 at knifeworks.

Not sure it is available yet and the prices so far are exceeding your limit but I suspect that eventually these will end up in the hands of dealers with prices close to what you want to pay. This is a darn exciting frame lock I can't wait to get my hands on personally. BenchMade has a winner here in the 755 MPR when it starts showing up at our favorite dealerships.
