Best <$150 Frame Lock?

+1 on the Spyderco Leafstorm. It's a tough little bugger that I reach for a lot of the time.

What about the Kershaw Groove ? I love mine.

This bears repeating! The Groove is my favorite frame lock! It does have G-10 overlays, but they can easily be removed if you don't like 'em. The best part is, you can grab a Groove for less than half of your maximum price requirement. Give one a look, if you haven't already!

Agreed! I am not fan of bead blast and DLC coating is for Tanto groove only, so I grabbed a rainbow groove and I love it.

I have an interesting alternative that is a tremendously good slicer: the Spyderco Chokwe. If you do pure cutting then the slender blade should give you plenty of pleasure. It's not designed for breaking up old furniture etc, but it's simply a really good general cutting tool, also at home around food. I think it's one of the better of my 40-something spydercos.
A quick check on ebay shows that it's easily within your budget. Finally, the peculiar handle form is in practice actually really good in the hand.
I think you should check it out.
