Hi y'all,

I was wondering what you thought was the best fixed blade that you could get for $250.

Thanks,
John

P.S. If you know of a knife that normally sells for around $250 used feel free to mention it as well.

That depends on what you like. If you were to hit a big knife show there would be quite a selection. As a favorite i'd pick a basic Jim Siska knife. It's very difficult to beat his knives for quality and value.

I happen to have a sale on Epoxied Micras.
Buy one for $250, get the second one for half price!!!!

Then again, maybe a nice Chris Reeve FB?

Always conniving,
VG

How about this one for $299.95.

It is 12 1/2" long and come with a lether sheath stamped with both Al Mar and CR logo's. Only 200 where made and each is serial numbered. They are SWEEEET!

Sorry I only have the one.

I have a couple of fixed blades in the $185-
250 range. These are by Siska, Dilluvio,
Hendrix. Hunters & fighters, stag and cocobolo - no black/no bead blast. I can e-mail pictures if you would like.

Thanks,
Win

How Big? What steel? What grind? Forged or Stock removal? What purpose (Utility/Fighter/Bird/Trout/Deer/Desk)? There are A LOT of knives, both production and custom (should I say 'hand made'?) around that price. Go to a knife show. Check out www.KnifeArt.com, www.Arizonacustomknives.com or www.AGRussell.com. You have received many good suggestions in this thread. I'll second Wayne Hendrix for really fine hunters, skinners, and utility blades. Jerry Hossom is another good choice. Look at Ed Caffrey's work if you like forged knives. I like several other makers who sell knives near or Below that price, but they are not connected to the WWW yet. Good blade hunting.
Paracelsus

P.S. I think Lynn Griffith's knives are a good choice also. It all depends on what YOU want.

Busse Combat, INFI Badger Attack - $247.

For only $47 more than $250, the best is Busse Combat, INFI Steel Heart II - $297.

If I had an extra $250 to spend, it would probally be a SPEEDTECH or a DOZIER skinner. I think both are great values. Lotsa good choices in that price range though,....have fun.

Hi y'all,

I appreciate all the help. I am mainly looking for a utility/fighter with a plain blade of around 4 inches. I like light handles, (White Micarta and Bone/Horn/Ivory)

Later,
John

P.S. I will be at the Heart of America show in a few weeks so I will have a chance to play with all Lynn's goodies.

Randall made knives has a large variety of knives within that price range, that is if you like a little more classical style knife. If you're not familiar with them, just type Randall made knives on just about any search engine.

Automantic,
My full tang, fixed blades, of 440-C S.S., avarage around $175. You might take a look at my web-site, and find something of interest. Good luck in your surch.

I agree with Mr. Miller. I am having a Randall made knife made for a present from my folks (sound odd?

) I will use is as a combat knife for my time in the Marine Corps. For $250.oo, you can have a very nice 5" blade customized to your exact specifications...so many choices, not enough money...

Neil,

I have to agree with Lucky Dog. You do have a very nice web page and some pretty awesome looking knives.

Automantic,

Good luck with your search. Let us know what you decide.
