Best All Around Camp Type Knife?

Good grief, jdraizor, that FSH/game warden combo is insane. I freaking love it. The orange and black handles with that sheath are a beautiful combo.

Thanks! The FSH is a custom shop that Garth did for me. The GW is a sterile pumpkin Warden. My favorite combo.

I will go Sarsquatch。
The Gemini...guards will gets in the way for camp type knife.
So Sarsquatch over the Gemini,
NMSFNO over the Sarsquatch:D:p

I really like the feel of the Squatch for some reason... but.... the Skinny Ash1 is a great feeling knife too.

So many to choose from!

My favourite camp knife .... meaning I would wear it on my belt as opposed to on a rucksack .... is probably a tie between the BWM LE and the asm ground Basic 11 ....

I find I turn to these two a lot .... and I have a number I can use .... probably the BWM LE if I was pressed to choose between them ....

For a while it was my SAR8, now though the DSF has taken it's place. I'll need to get some pics up but it really is a great mid sized user. I'm not generally chopping trees down so the BM's can be left at home for now. The DSF will go through up to 2'' in diameter which is plenty for my requirements right now.

The Camp Tramp is a great choice:thumbup:

I also like the skinny Ash and SHSJ.

Jaxx - That is just one incredibly beautiful knife! I'll bet she feels as sweet in the hand as she looks too

Wow, this SARsquatch is an absolute beauty!!

Darn close... :)

...But it wouldn't be my first choice as a camp knife. I believe that if one was to have to "bail out" and would be crossing through both urban/suburban and rural areas, it would be a great knife to have strapped to a leg and be capable for just about anything you'd need it for from normal knife tasks to prybar to second or third layer defense (after firearms, long & short)...sharp enough to slice, thick enough to baton, pry and dig, with that full guard to keep your hand where it should be...off the blade! ;) If only one knife or paired with something much smaller like a folder or the Culti, the TG is my new BOB Busse of choice.

For a camp knife, that SARsquatch seems like a better choice, especially this one...

also the SFNO/NMSFNO models rank very high, and if ya like 'em heavier, the HHFSH or HOFSH are both 2 more fantastic Busse's with a serious work ethic. ;)

The SAR -8 is a great knife too, but after I got some time in with the B11, I'd have to say that it would be a nice choice for a lighter longer knife with serious chopping capabilities. If the only knife, maybe not, but paired with a smaller blade, I believe that it would work really well. :)

I think the best all around camp knife, if I could just keep one, would be the NMSFNO...

I was very interested in the Gemini when I first saw it, but I feel its too similar to the NMSFNO for me to purchase plus im not sure how comfy the talon hole on the top would be for chocking up....

Skinny ASH and Tank Buster are not far behind, but the extra few inches on the NMSFNO give it an edge for larger chores.

I would choose the B11 to go with the GW. I had a Sarsquatch for a short time. For me a medium sized blade 7-9 inch is a "Jack of all trades", but a master of none. Not large enough to be a efficient chopper and to large for detailed work. I perfer to carry 2 knives more suited for the intended chores instead of one mediocre sized knife to get by with. I know others will disagree, but while appreciating good using knives why would you be content to compromise?

Right here...do it ALL knife/axe duo...

Basic11 really sexy, man.
what is the ax in that pic ?
looks so cool,

i think Busse need go a combat style ax like this one ,i will take it :D

Of those two, I think the SARSquatch will be the better Camp Knife. The thinner convex edge makes it the better slicer, while still tough enough for other tasks.

The Skinny ASH is my favorite. SFNO and NMSFNO are VERY closely tied for second.

I've never used one but have always thought I would enjoy a squatch. Looks very useful.

Old School Ratweiler with Green Spec-Ops Sheath : best size/weight for me.
