I see so much about so many and wonder what you think would be the best single Spyderco of current crop available. What would you buy if only having one of them?

Well how much can I spend? I love the Endura for an all around knife at an affordable price when choosing a spyderco and own pretty much every flavor of it. Now that it comes with a flat ground blade its a better slicer than when it only came in sabre grind.

With that being said my favorite is the military with its larger thumb hole and longer blade.

Only one? The FRN FFG Delica because it is inexpensive for what you get, it is light, a great slicer, extremely versatile and tough, and it is legal almost everywhere in the USA. (sub 3" blade)

I can't think of a single Spyderco that stands out above all others. They all excel at something and not at something else. The Stretch II is probably one that is best for the average EDC use. I also love the Manix II (even after I saw the torture test vid and lock failure ;)) for something a little more substantial. Over all general use, it's hard to top the Endura/Delica pair.

Now I dont own any spyderco's but I'd get a manix 2 for all purpose, I simply love the looks of it.

Oh the joy of living in denmark -.- cant wait till I move to germany.

FFG Manix, Military, Gayle Bradley or Chinook 3.

Aren't one-hand openers illegal to carry in public in Germany?
I am not sure but last time I heard you could have one hand opener that doesn't lock or locking knife that is not one hander. But you can't have one hander with lock.

Yeah, they are. But then I can atleast own one :P In denmark its illegal to even get into the country.

Also correct me if I am wrong, but one hand openers are legal if it doesnt have a lock, and a locking knife is legal if it isnt a one hand opener.

I'd have to say the Millie followed closely by the Gayle Bradley. The Manix 2

would be in there too if it had a longer blade and handle.

I use my Atlantic Salt everyday for everything, so I have to say that.

Correct. Carrying a one-hand opening locking knife requires a "socially acceptable reason"
Possession is not restricted in any way.

Endura/Delica, depending on what size folder you need. The Delica will be adequate for most tasks.
