"Best" Assisted opening Folder for under $125

I really like my Benchmade 913D2. I need to try adjusting the pivot again. I tried to center the blade and now it has a little play in it. I think I didn't tighten it enough before letting the loctite set.

I'm gonna have to +1 on the CPM D2 composite leek. It's a great little knife for the price.

This knife has received the most positive comments in this thread.

I really hate to sound like a pansy, but aesthetically, I'm not digging it.

It received enough compliments that I ordered one yesterday.I was looking at a CRKT Horus or My Tighe. This thread changed my mind.I can`t wait to get it in.

I'll toss my hat in the ring for the Kershaw scallion. With the partially serrated edge. If I need to go smaller, I go with the chive. If I need something bigger, I go with the Leek. You can't beat their customer service either. I sent in a leek I picked up in a trade a while back, with a broken blade. For $30 they are upgrading me to the D2 version. And they are replacing/repairing 2 others that I sent in at the same time, no questions asked. I would like to see the scallion with a D2 blade one of these days, but the regular one is holding up just fine. Besides, the woman I spoke to at kershaw said I can send mine in any time to have it resharpened for free. I have not tested this yet, but it sounds like their customer service on the other knives. You just can't beat that for an EDC.

Well, I passed on the Spyderco embassy as it appeared too thick.

Unfortunately, I had an opportunity to buy a Microtech LUDT satin plain blade ANIB (as new in box) for $150 shipped.

So I did what many other knife collectors do, I tossed my parameters and budget convictions clean out of the window and bought the thing.

Yes, the knife is larger than I wanted, more expensive than I intended, is an automatic and not an assisted opener, and caught me unresearched except for price (the cheapest I've seen them is $179.99 for combo edge).

I believe I got a good deal on a now out-of-production knife.

I'm going to pick up a Kershaw composite blade knife for EDC.

I want to thank everyone for their help. You're certainly a valuable asset to a knife newb (who's already managed to spend $1400 in 2 months on blades).

thanks guys for helping me spend my money and for my not-so-distant divorce;)
