Best Bang for the Buck Machete???

Tramontina is my 1# choice,but I wouldn't order it-my experience is that you have to carefully examine it before you take one-I hadn't such problems with Ontario

Where have you ordered yours from? I have ordered four of them from Smoky Mountain and all four of them were very nice. I am just trying to find out if SMKW sorts out the bad ones before shipping, or if I just got lucky four times.

I have ordered some Ontario blades,for that is only way to buy it in my country,but before I did some homework about dealers and quality,and Tramontina was easy, two hardware stores sells those- believe me no one sorts,some are bent,some chipped,some have better edge angle,some worse ,but generally about 70% is good.Anyway I tried to order directly from dealer for Croatia some models I don't have, but after some e-mails and promises, now is 6# month that I wait for 2007 Tramontina catalog.That is why I wouldn't order.Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the info. I guess I got lucky then and went 4-for-4 in good quality blades. None of the ones I ordered were shaving sharp, but I was able to get them there quickly with a file so I can't really complain.
