What's the discriminating Hog drinking these days?

Without a doubt, my favorite brew has to be Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale, on tap. High alcohol, incredible taste... Too bad the bastards only make it once a year just before Christmas. :(

Anyone?

Actually, Matteo, my mother just brought me back a bottle of that from Belgium. I haven't gotten it from her yet, but I'm sure I'll love it. Excellent choice, I'm sure...

I don't know if it's the best beer in the world, but there's Argentinian beer called Quilmes, I think, pronounced (Keelmess) that is really smooth. Great stuff.

[channeling Dennis Hopper] PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!!!

In all seriousness, Hooegarten gets my nod. I never tire of that stuff.

No relation to our fellow Rat...

But that'd be the Homo Erectus from the Walking Man Brewery

ooh so many choices.....

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

you know... oddly - samiclaus brings back my fondest memories. 1st bottle was sweet necter. like candy beer. the second, third and fourth bottles were vomitous hell that turned my stomach over instantly upon hitting my mouth. but that first bottle - amazing...

i have a lot of beers i like, smiths oatmeal stout (slightly cool, but near room temperature), lagunitas pils and their brown shuggah, arrogant bastard (fruit beer as far as im concerned, so sweet after you get past the initial hops bitterness), anchor steam, mendicino counties talon barley wine, kostritzer, the various spaten fruity beers (banana ovetones and the like)....

but honestly, i've come to the point that all i really ever want to drink, what always sounds good - carlsberg and birra moreti. carlsberg is always verging on overly strong skunk, and birra moreti is always just a touch to strong, but both are at the perfect level where my "I LOVE STRONG BEER" manly voice collides with my "i just want something that i can drink rather then sip slowly for fear of having my jaw lock from clenching so hard"

so ya... carlsberg and birra moreti

If you can get it, Westvleteren is THE beer.

Rochefort 8 and 10 are dang tasty as well.

I've been enjoying Kerst Pater, a Winter Belgian with a slightly sour finish.

Honorable mention for a couple other Winter brews: Great Divide Hibernation Ale and Anderson Valley Winter Solstice.

My all time favorite has got to be Shiner, to expensive as an everyday.

Schlitz, room temp (showing my heritage :p ) is my choice right now, at Five and change for a twelve its perfect for us money challenged folk.:o Been drinking room temp beer so long now that a cold one is just nasty. A Bavarian tradition lives in Texas!:D

Youngs Dirty Dicks English Ale. My Favorite very good stuff, nothin goes down like a dirty dick;)

RED DOG !!!

If you're not a busse fanatic, you'll be forced to drink expired and warm RED RAT!

Um...Guiness of coarse..... other than that, anything that is darker than chocolate.
